Divorce question.........?

Olen Penhallurick: The other spouse does not have to sign the papers. No law forces someone to stay married. You need to see a lawyer and have the divorce complaint drawn up. It will be served on him by a sheriff and he has 30 days in which to file an answer. If he doesn't, the divorce court date is scheduled. He doesn't have to be there, just you and your attorney. The judge will sign the judgment and you are divorced. Plain and simple. He doesn't have to sign jack diddly squat. If he can't b! e found, notice will be published in the local paper at his last known address and he will have so many days to respond. Mahalia Brindle: You need to find out at the courthouse or consult a lawyer about what to do in this situation. I'm sure there are provisions for that, it can't be THAT uncommon.
