Do you want a sedentary job with little physical or social activity or rather be on your feet interacting with dentist and patients? If a dentist stresses you, you can move on. If the paper work stresses you ..... well, back to the old drawing board.answers 2:I'd say the Medical coding/Billing. Allot more stress!!answers 3:I say Medical coding/billing. You can work in a hospital and a regular office you have medical terminology as well as secretarial skills. Dental Assisting seems more stressful. You have to deal with patients in pain.answers 4:Dental Assisting will pay more. You can work in a small professional office and work with patients. Your training will teach you that pain management in dentristy ha! s come a long way and most patients are very comfortable during almost all procedures. You will be working directly with the patients and be responsible for the cleaning of the instruments, keeping the patient area clean and sterile and assisting the dentist. Medical coding often requires very specific areas of expertise and you will be doing a lot of repetitive work day in and day out. You may work in a very large office with dozens of other people doing the same thing you are doing. It will be very important to be detail oriented and not make any mistakes or the doctor won't get paid. Two very different jobs. Both good in different ways. Depends on your personality. If you don't like bodily contact or gross things at all - do medical coding. Dental assistants deal with patients and that means bodily contact. If you are bored by paperwork, do the dental assisting. You'll be looking at forms all day as a medical billing coder. Hope this helps....
